Sant Francesc Xavier is the island’s capital, a white village around the Plaça de la Constitució and its 18th-century fortress-church. The morning market fills the square, the Mercat Pagès sells the island’s produce, and the Consell’s exhibition spaces are a few steps away.
The square
The church of Sant Francesc, blessed in 1738, was built against pirate raids.

The morning market, daily 10am–2pm, and the Mercat Pagès, Monday to Saturday 9am–2pm.
